American, Colonial Championships to be awarded Sunday

Nashua, NH- The Northeast Collegiate Hockey Association will award championships in its American and Colonial Conferences at Conway Arena in Nashua on Sunday, February 13th.

The Colonial Conference Championship game will feature the US Coast Guard Academy vs Worcester Polytechnic Institute at 12:10pm.  The Colonial Conference is NECHA’s ACHA Men’s Division 3 Conference; Sunday’s winner could potentially qualify for an autobid to the ACHA M3 National Tournament.  Coast Guard upset Thomas College, 3-1, yesterday to advance to the finals.  In the other semi-final, WPI defeated the University of New England, 10-0.

The American Conference Championship will face off at 3:00pm, between Bentley University and Westfield State University.  In yesterday’s semi-finals,  Bentley defeated Bridgewater State University, 13-2, and Westfield beat Southern New Hampshire University, 11-1.  Both teams in today’s championship could potentially advance to the ACHA’s Division 2 Northeast Regional Tournament depending on this weekend’s results which will be included in the final weekly rankings.

Admission to today’s games are $5 for adults and $3 for students.  The City of Nashua requires that face coverings be worn inside buildings.
